采用多种实验性炎症模型，观察了Ost的抗炎作用。Ost对二甲苯所致小鼠耳壳肿胀，醋酸引起的小鼠腹腔毛细血管通透性增高，角叉案胶诱发的大鼠及切除双侧肾上腺的大鼠足爪肿胀均有明显的抑制作用，但不影响大鼠足爪炎症组织内PGE含量。Ost对琼脂引起的小鼠肉芽肿增生亦有明显的抑制作用。结果表明Ost对急性和慢性炎症模型均有抗炎作用，其抗炎机制并非通过垂体一肾上腺皮质系统，亦与PGE的合成无关。
Abstract：Osthol(Ost) was a coumarin isolated from the fruits of Cnidium monnieri(L ) Cusson, Ostsuppressed the swelling of mouse ears induced by zylene and the increase of peritoneal caPillarypermeability by ip 0.7% acetic acid in mice. Ost diminished the ederna of hind paws induced by sc1% carrageenan not only in normal rats, but also in adrenalectomised rats. However, the conentsof PGE in the inflammtory tissue of rat hind paws was not changed. Furthermore, Ost inhibitedthe proiferation of granulotna induced by impanting 0.1 ml agar in mice. These results suggestedthat Ost had anti-inflammatory effects, which was neither dependent on the pituitary-adrenalsystem nor on the PGE synthesis.
